Important Access Updates - Rabart Merthyr Tydfil: Reopening of Rocky Road and Temporary Closures

Jun 16, 2023

Some important updates regarding road closures and openings in the local area.

Effective Saturday, June 17, 2023, Rocky Road will reopen, bringing relief to commuters and residents. However, as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements, the Galon Uchaf/Bryniau bridge will be temporarily closed. This blog post aims to provide you with all the necessary details and alternative routes to ensure smooth travel during this period.

Temporary Pedestrian Crossing:
To facilitate pedestrian movement while Galon Uchaf/Bryniau bridge remains closed, a temporary pedestrian crossing will be installed across the A465. Until the temporary crossing is operational, pedestrians can continue using Galon Uchaf/Bryniau bridge as usual.

Temporary Road Layout Changes:
A short section to the west of Pant Industrial Estate Road will be temporarily closed. However, we want to assure you that access to businesses in the area will be maintained throughout the closure. Please refer to the provided temporary road layout map (2) for a visual representation of the affected area.

New Link Road:
Part of the new link road for Pontsarn Road will be opened, providing an alternative route for businesses located in the western section of Pant Industrial Estate. This temporary route will ensure that local businesses can continue their operations with minimal disruption.
